Per cent by weight, to the governing standard.
- Ni48.6
- Cr21.8
- Fe18.5
- Mo9.0
- Co1.5
- W0.6
Per cent by weight, at the midpoint of each specified window. Elements given only as a maximum have no midpoint to take, so they sit inside the balance rather than being estimated; trace elements below 0.5 % are not shown. Indicative only; the composition table above and the governing standard are what define the limits.

Where it is specified
- Gas turbine combustion components, ducting and burner cans
- Oxidation resistance to roughly 1200 °C
- Good strength retention under sustained high temperature
Carbon sits in a band, so a chemistry check against a maximum passes it
Carbon on Hastelloy X sits in a band rather than under a ceiling, because the alloy needs it for high-temperature strength. A heat below 0.05 % will not perform at temperature even though a chemistry check against a maximum would pass it.
What we specify and check
- Carbon verified against the 0.05–0.15 % band, not a maximum
- PMI for Cr, Mo and Fe against B435
- Solution anneal records demanded
We commission an accredited independent laboratory to test the heat before the material leaves China. You will receive that report unedited, whether it passes or not.
