Molybdenum is the substitution tell on C-276. It is measured on the delivered heat, not read off the certificate.
Buying superalloy direct from China can take a serious slice out of your material cost. It also hands you a set of unknowns that no amount of email can close, which is why most Australian buyers who could do it, don’t.
The last one has no workaround. Every other question has a hack: a reference, a sample, a smaller first order. That one is just exposure, and it is the reason the container never gets booked. We answer it by being the party you call.
The heat is tested by an accredited independent laboratory before it leaves China, and the report reaches you unedited. If it does not meet what was specified, the container does not load — and where something gets past us, the material is replaced.
That is the whole reason to put someone between you and the mill. Anyone can find you a supplier. The question is who carries it when the metal is wrong.
Five gates. Material does not advance until the gate behind it is closed.
No mill quotes your job until it has been audited on site and approved: business and export licences verified, credit checked, the floor walked. We do not source against a marketplace listing.

Grade, standard, dimensional tolerance and the full test regime are fixed in writing before a purchase order exists. The standard defines the tests, and we specify to it, so nothing is left to interpretation later.

Presence during the run, not a phone call at the end. Progress, heat numbers and photographs reach you while the material is still on the floor and still fixable.
Answers: Is it being made the way we agreed?
An accredited third-party laboratory tests the actual heat against the standard, and positive material identification is run on the delivered material. We put a representative on the floor at loading, with the authority to stop the container.
We don’t ask you to trust our inspection — we’re not the ones inspecting. The lab has no stake in whether your shipment moves, which is exactly why its report is worth something. You receive it unedited, pass or fail.

We test the metal,
not the paperwork.
A mill test certificate is a document, and documents can be produced. The only thing that turns a claim into a fact is a measurement taken on the heat that is actually in the crate.
Same alloy as the docket at the top of this page. Same element. The molybdenum came back at 13.92 % against a floor of 15.00 %, which means the heat in the crate was not C-276, whatever the mill certificate said about it.
The container did not load. You would have received this report in exactly the form you are looking at now — before the material shipped, before it was your problem, and without anybody here deciding you were better off not seeing it.
That is the entire difference between a verification service and a broker with a good story. A report you only ever receive when it passes is not a report. It is marketing with a laboratory letterhead.

True Grade Metals is the alloy sourcing arm of Bilt & Co Pty Ltd, an Australian company based in Rockhampton, Queensland. That matters for exactly one reason: when material is wrong, you are dealing with an Australian company under Australian law, not an arbitration clause in a language you don’t read.
We are direct about what we are. We are not a mill and we do not employ metallurgists. We qualify the mills, we specify to the standard, we commission accredited independent laboratories to do the testing, and we stand behind what lands. The failed reports reach you along with the passing ones, because a verification service that filters its own results is not a verification service.
