Where it is specified
- Process piping and heat exchangers to roughly 600 °C
- Resists oxidation, carburisation and chloride stress-corrosion cracking
- Where sustained creep service is required, specify 800H or 800HT
The risk runs backwards: 800 sold against an 800H requirement
The risk on 800 runs the other way to 800H: buyers are sometimes sold 800 against an 800H requirement. If the application involves sustained high temperature, the grade designation on the order is the thing to check first.
What we specify and check
- Confirmation that 800, not 800H, is what the application actually requires
- PMI for Ni and Cr against B409
- Certificate matched to the delivered heat
We commission an accredited independent laboratory to test the heat before the material leaves China. You will receive that report unedited, whether it passes or not.
