Per cent by weight, to the governing standard.
- Ni76.5
- Cr15.5
- Fe8.0
Per cent by weight, at the midpoint of each specified window. Elements given only as a maximum have no midpoint to take, so they sit inside the balance rather than being estimated; trace elements below 0.5 % are not shown. Indicative only; the composition table above and the governing standard are what define the limits.

Where it is specified
- Oxidising and carburising atmospheres to roughly 1100 °C
- Resists chloride stress-corrosion cracking
- Heat treatment fixtures, furnace components, chemical processing
A 72 % nickel floor is expensive to hold honestly
Nickel at 72 % minimum makes 600 an expensive alloy to make honestly, and the pressure is always on the nickel floor. Iron drifting above the 10 % ceiling is the usual sign that the melt was stretched.
What we specify and check
- PMI reading nickel against the 72 % minimum
- Iron verified against the 6.0–10.0 % window
- Certificate matched to the delivered heat
We commission an accredited independent laboratory to test the heat before the material leaves China. You will receive that report unedited, whether it passes or not.
